‘Baahubali’ in 100 crore club?

Rajamouli’s ‘Baahuballi’ has joined the 100 crore club within two days of its release which is a record for an Indian film.

So far many Indian films have collected 100 and the list includes quite many Bollywood films like ‘PK’, ‘Three Idiots’, ‘Chennai Express’, ‘Ra One’, ‘Kick’, ‘Dabaang’, ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ etc. The list also includes some south Indian films ‘Enthiran’, Viswaroopam’ and ‘Kaththi’. Now ‘Baahubali’ comes as a proud entrant that too in just two days of its theatrical release, a record which no other Indian film has achieved.

As reported earlier, ‘Baahubali’ which released in 15 languages in 4000 screens across the world had garnered Rs.60 crores collection on the first day of its release and on the second day it has collected Rs.55 crores putting the total to a whopping Rs.115 crores. Out of this the Indian theatrical share is Rs.90.

‘Baahubali’ stars Prabhas, Rana Daggupathi, Anushka, Tamannah, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, Nasser and many others. The film was made as a Tamil-Telugu bilingual.

It’s ‘Not a Love Story’ now: Ramu

Ram Gopal Varma’s next starring Mahie Gill in the lead and based on Maria Susairaj case has gone for a title change. Instead of it being called ‘A Love Story’ earlier it will be renamed as ‘Not a Love Story’.

Varma who opined that A love Story is the apt title at first is considering it to be renamed after shooting the film in Mumbai real locations. On the whole the emotion of horror got to Ramu and hence he thought that ‘Not a Love Story’ will suit the mood of the film.

The film is based on 2008 case of Kannada actress Maria Susairaj, who along with her naval officer lover murdered her former lover Neeraj Grover, cut his body into pieces and dumped it into a suitcase. Victim Neeraj Grover will be played by Ajay Gehl.

Deepak Dobriyal of Tanu Weds Manu fame is playing Mahie’s boy friend in the film.

Produced by Sonil Bohra and Ramu himself the film is going for a single schedule before wrapping up.

Tanu Weds Manu director’s next

After the stupendous success that Tanu Weds Manu achieved [collecting more than 38 crores] amidst fighting cricket world cup, director of the film Anand L Rai is keen on repeating the magic with his next film which will be a love story.

Though the director was bestowed with many offers from eminent production houses Anand chose to do his next film for Eros international.

The director who is right now busy in finishing off the script will cast actors once he pens the story completely.

Maddy-Trisha in Tanu Weds Manu Tamil remake

The latest Bollywood hit film Tanu weds Manu starring Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut in the lead will soon be made in Kollywood as per the latest reports. The film was declared as hit despite of receiving positive reviews. Many predicted that the combination of Madhavan and Kangana might not work but the film proved them as false impression by turning hit at the bow office.

Tanu weds Manu was made with an amount of Rs.17.5 crores and so far the world wide netted profit stand at Rs.38.50 crores. The efforts are in progress for making it in Tamil. Madhavan is going to reprise the role by him in Tamil while Trisha is in consideration to essay the role played by Kangana in the original version.

The duo Madhavan and Trisha were last seen in Lesa Lesa and again after 9 years both of them are seen in Manmadhan Ambu. If all is well we might have a chance to see them pairing in the remake.

However the official announcement is awaited.

Karthi in Tanu Weds Manu remake

Madhavan, Kangana Ranaut starrer Tanu weds Manu will soon be remade in Kollywood as per the latest reports.

Tanu weds Manu has released recently and was confirmed as a hit at the Bollywood box-office despite of its mixed reviews. Madhavan has stepped Bollywood long back but has made his solo hit with this film. Now, guess who is going to replace Madhavan in the remake? It’s none other than Karthi who is doing the lead role. With the last release Siruthai, Karthi has proved his mettle by performing immense comedy on par with serious kind of role outstandingly. Tanu weds Manu being a romantic comedy entertainer, Karthi is sure to give his best to the role.

The directors for this remake might be Suraj of Mappillai fame or Rajesh the master of rom-com entertainers. Other details of the cast and crew of the film are yet to be finalized.

Maddy’s big bash for friends

Actor Madhavan is currently the toast of Bollywood.

His first solo hero movie Tanu Weds Manu has netted an impressive Rs 31 Crore in 17 days which is very good.

The film has been declared a super hit in spite of World Cup.

Post the stupendous success of TWM, Madhavan threw a big bash, a success party of sorts at JW Marriott in Mumbai.

He had invited his buddies right from his television days to directors like Rajkumar Hirani, Imtiaz Ali, Anurag Kashyap to name a few and friends like Sharman Joshi, Omi Vaidya, Shilpa Shetty and others.

After the party, Madhavan took the first available flight to Chennai enroute to Karaikudi for the shoot of Lingusamy directed Vettai. The shoot of the film which has Arya, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul in supporting roles is starting today (March 16).

Please note Madhavan after the stupendous success of TWM is being flooded with Bollywood offers.

However the actor a complete professional kept his commitment to Lingusamy above all the offers that came his way.

The box-office success of TWM is indeed a great achievement for the actor as no mainstream hero from south has made it big as a solo hero.
