Rajamouli’s ‘Baahuballi’ has joined the 100 crore club within two days of its release which is a record for an Indian film.
So far many Indian films have collected 100 and the list includes quite many Bollywood films like ‘PK’, ‘Three Idiots’, ‘Chennai Express’, ‘Ra One’, ‘Kick’, ‘Dabaang’, ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ etc. The list also includes some south Indian films ‘Enthiran’, Viswaroopam’ and ‘Kaththi’. Now ‘Baahubali’ comes as a proud entrant that too in just two days of its theatrical release, a record which no other Indian film has achieved.
As reported earlier, ‘Baahubali’ which released in 15 languages in 4000 screens across the world had garnered Rs.60 crores collection on the first day of its release and on the second day it has collected Rs.55 crores putting the total to a whopping Rs.115 crores. Out of this the Indian theatrical share is Rs.90.
‘Baahubali’ stars Prabhas, Rana Daggupathi, Anushka, Tamannah, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, Nasser and many others. The film was made as a Tamil-Telugu bilingual.
Director Joshiy is back with the thriller, Lailaa O Lailaa, starring Mohanlal and Amala Paul in the lead. The trio had teamed up earlier in Run Baby Run that turned out to be a hit. Bollywood writer Suresh Nair has scripted his first malayalam film.
Lailaa O Lailaa, produced by Santhosh Kottayi, Bijou Antony and Preeta Nair under the banner of Finecut Entertainments, has camera by Lokanathan and music by Gopi Sundar.
The cast also includes Sathyaraj, Rahul Dev and Kainaat Arora.
Vijay who is working with director Shankar in Nanban is all happy and impressed with the director’s working style.
Vijay says “Shankar can be termed as India’s Spielberg as his way of making a movie is totally to the standards of Hollywood style. I always wished to work with Shankar and it finally happened with Nanban. It’s very comfortable working with him as he treats the artistes with respect. I am sure that Nanban will stand as a mile stone in my career. Working with Jeeva, Srikanth, Ileana, Sathyaraj and others is a whole new experience”.
The fourth schedule of the film has been wrapped up recently and the next schedule will kick start by end of July.

Currently Director Shankar’s team is stationed in Coimbatore where few very significant scenes are being canned. Jeeva has joined the schedule as soon as returning from Swiss. Shankar is shooting the film on a rapid pace so as to release the film for Diwali. Nanban is running high on expectations even though it is a remake as the director made changes to the original script to match the Tamil audiences.
Nanban features an ensemble cast that includes Vijay, Jeeva, Srikanth, Ileana D’Cruz, Sathyaraj, Sathyan, S. J. Surya, Anuya Bhagvath, Lawrence Raghavendra and others.
Music is by Harris Jayaraj and he has completed recording four songs of the film.

Almost every alternative day there is news about the latest happenings of Nanban. Recently the shooting was held at Ampa Skywalk mall where Vijay and Ileana were spotted.
Director Shankar has shot few scenes on the lead pair. For one particular scene Vijay has taken 3 takes while Ileana has took nearly seven takes which has given some tension to director Shankar. The unit now moved to Andaman Islands and it is heard that the climax Shoot is progressing in a rapid pace. Though the film is the remake of Bollywood blockbuster hit 3 Idiots but Shankar has made enough changes to the script to match up the Tamil flavor.
Music by Harris Jayraj is almost on the heels of completion and music is going to be out in stores very soon. Gemini Film Circuit is producing the film while Sun Pictures owns the distribution rights.
