Bhaskar The Rascal is a family entertainer which stars Megastar Mammootty in the lead role. The movie directed by Siddique stars Nayantara in the female lead. Bhaskar The Rascal is produced by Anto Joseph under the banner Anto Joseph Film Company.

Bhaskar was the only pillar of strength for his father during the crisis periods. He was secretly called as Rascal by te people, due to his rough and tough nature and tendency to react instantly if anyone opposes him.

Bhaskar(Mammootty) is a widower with a son Aadhi(Master Sanoop). He is a self made millionaire who builds an empire from the business wreckage of his father, played by Janardhanan. He is an uncouth man who has a rough exterior. But like a typical Siddique hero he has a golden heart. The typical characters which Siddique uses as sidekicks of hero are here as well in the form of Harisree Ashokan, Kalabhavan Shajon and Saju Navodaya. They are just card board characters created just to manufacture laughter.

After losing his wife pretty early, Bhaskar never married again and he has tremendous affection for his son, Aadi (Master Sanoop). But the boy has problems with his dad’s habit of getting into fights with all his rivals. As fate would have it, Bhaskar has an unlikely fan in Aadi’s classmate Shivani (Baby Anikha), the daughter of a lady entrepreneur, the sweet, charming soft-spoken Hima (Nayantara), who sells homemade chocolates.

The kids want their parents to get married and Bhaskar likes the idea as well. But Hima is not keen about this and there are some unprecedented issues that follow which takes the story ahead.


Mammootty perfectly plays Bhaskar, a ruthless businessman, a loving son and a extremely caring father. Nayantara makes a fantastic comeback into Malayalam as Hima, an independent lady who single-handedly raises her daughter. Master Sanoop and Baby Anikha steals the show with perfect portrayal of Bhaskar’s son Aadhi and Hima’s daughte. JD Chakravarthy excels as the soft-spoken antagonist. Janardhanan, Harisree Ashokan, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Saju Navodaya and Devi Ajith, who essayed the supporting roles completely fit into their respective roles.

Bhaskar The Rascal Script And Direction The movie is penned and directed by hit maker Siddique, has nothing new to offer. But the director succeeds in making a perfect family entertainer out of a cliched story line. The movie is rich with comical situations in first half; but shows some flaws in the second half. The climax ofhav the movie couldn’t match the exuberance of first half and ended up as an average one.

Bhaskar The Rascal a perfect family entertainer for the festival season. Watch it without much expectations.

Megastar Mammootty’s ‘Achcha Din’ starts

Superstar Mammootty, who has just wrapped up the shooting of Salim Ahmed’s Pathemaari, has started shooting for G Marthandan’s Achcha Din.

Marthandan has earlier directed Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus.

Achcha Din is being produced by S George and has script by Emmanuel fame A C Vijeesh. According to reports, Mammootty is playing a north Indian who has been living in Kerala for so many years. Pradeep Nair wields the camera while Biji Bal scores the music.

Mammootty’s Vishu release, Bhaskar the Rascal, will hit the screens on Apr 14. The film has Nayantara playing the heroine.

Nayantara Is a perfect role model for the newcomers

nayantaraActress Nayantara is one of the top league actresses of South Indian cinema. The major banners and top notch filmmakers has always praised the Nayan for her professionalism and has been very keen to cast her in their projects.

Recently, director Siddique opened up about his fondness for Nayantara in an interview. Siddique states that Nayan is an actress who can be a perfect role model for the newcomers.

The master director says that Nayan is one actress whom every filmmaker would like to work with. The actress is completely dedicated to the character she plays and is always concerned about her crew members.

Kamal Haasan lauds Ajith’s Arrambam

Padmashree Kamal Haasan has taken some time out of his busy schedule and appears to have watched Arrambam in a multiplex in Bangalore. “Kamal adored Ajith, Arya, Nayantara and Vishnuvardhan for choice of roles and justified screen space for all the stars.”

It is worth mentioning that Ajith was in awe with Arya’s role and Vishnuvardhan’s rich taking after watching Arrambam special screening. Ajith’s Arrambam is said to have minted 30crs net during opening weekend.

Thala Ajith’s Arrambam Special Show

Earlier, Sri Sathya Sai Movie’s producing Arrambam hasn’t got permission for the special morning show in the city and suburbs, but finally Tamil Nadu Government given its nod for director Vishnuvardhan’s Arrambam benefit show around 6 to 6.30 AM on the release day.

Ajith has once again proved he is King of Openings as all the paid premiers and Arrambam first two days bookings closed all over. Well it is known that all the multiplexes in Chennai are booked for Arrambam on October 31st and November 1st.

Arrambam with the likes of Ajith, Nayantara, Arya, Taapsee and Rana with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is gearing up to hit screens on November 2nd worldwide to entertain Kollywood audiences for Diwali.

Audio of Thala Ajith’s upcoming film Arrambam is set to hit the stores from 19th of September.

Sony Music Company has officially announced the audio release date of Arrambam in twitter page, “AUDIO LAUNCH ANNOUNCEMENT! The soundtrack of ‘Thala’ #Ajith’s #Arrambam in @Raja_Yuvan’s music will be launched on Thursday,19th September.”

Directed by Vishnuvarshan, Arrambam is a multi-starrer film with the likes of Ajith, Nayantara, Arya and Taapse along wih Rana Daggubati. Sri Sathya Movies producing Arrambam has mesmerizing music and BGM by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Udhayanidhi Stalin in Karaikudi with Nayantara


It is known that Udhayanidhi Stalin is pairing up with Nayantara after Hansika on screen for his second-heroic film titled Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal [IKK]. New schedule of this upcoming Tamil movie started today [Sep 2] in Karaikudi.

SR Prabhakaran, director of Sundarapandian is wielding the megaphone for Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal under Red Giant Movies production house. Hot and sizzlining Nayanthara plays the role as a simple middle-class girl Pavithra in the film that showcases Udhayanidhi as an unemployed youngster.

Comedian Santhanam and ace photographer Sunder Ramu will be playing important roles in the movie, which will have Oru Kal Oru Kannadi’s music composer Harris Jayaraj, cinematographer Balasubramaniem and art director V. Selvaraj as part of Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal’s technical crew.

Ajith-Vishnuvardhan film updates

Thala Ajith is back with his daring stunts for his upcoming Vishnuvardhan’s directorial.

AM Ratnam’s production venture will have Ajith doing some risky stunts, similar to his dare devil helicopter stunt in Billa 2. But this time Ajith will be hanging upside down and Thala has done it continuously for 12hrs by taking only short breaks from 8pm to 8am and the director is awestruck with the actor’s performance and the scene has come out really well, claimed sources.

Sony Music has bagged the audio rights of this yet-to-be-titled film composed by none other than Yuvan Shankar Raja, following Ajth-Yuvan’s earlier combos like Dheena, Mankatha and Billa 2. Nayantara, Arya and Taapsee are sharing screen with Ajith in this movie.
