‘Mayamohini’ to Kannada

The comedy film ‘Mayamohini’, the highest grossing Malayalam movie of 2012, is being remade in Kannada with the title ‘Smt Jayalalitha’.

The Kannada version is directed by Pon Kumaran, who is the director of the horror film ‘Charulatha’ with Priyamani in the lead role. Kannada comedy actor Sharan will play the character played by Dileep in ‘Mayamohini’. The character name is changed to Jayalalitha in Kannada.

Aiswarya Devan and Disha Pande will be the heroines. The shooting of the movie is progressing in Mysore now.

The Malayalam movie ‘Mayamohini’ is directed by Jose Thomas and scripted by Udaykrishna-Siby K Thomas duo. With Dileep playing the central character, the other lead roles were played by Biju Menon, Baburaj, Lakshmi Rai, and Mythili.

Actress Vedhika is Dileep’s heroine!


Vedhika after a stunning performance in Bala’s Paradesi has signed up to be Dileep’s heroine in Jose Thomas’ new untitled film.

Dileep and Jose Thomas are coming together after last year’s blockbuster Mayamohini.

The Dileep film will be Vedhika’s debut in Malayalam. She has done glamour roles in Tamil in films like Madrasi, Kaalai, Muni, Malai Malai and done also Kannada and Telugu films.

In Jose Thomas directed film she plays a fiery weaver woman and is cast romantically opposite Dileep.

The shoot of the film is starting from next week in Ottapalam in Kerala and will also be shot in Palani and Pollachi.

Dileep’s cleft lip look is already a hit!


When it comes to experimenting with this looks, there are not many, like Dileep.

In the past, he has played a hunchback to perfection in Kunjikkoonan, an effeminate guy in Chanthupottu and last year, he played a woman in Mayamohini.

His latest avatar is with a cleft lip in Vysakh’s Sound Thoma.

The shooting of the film has started in Kochi. The film’s marketing team has released only a few photos of Dileep from the film but it has gone viral in the social networking sites, already.

Vysakh is known for his colourful films and has directed three hits, Pokkiri Raja, Seniors and Mallu Singh. Namitha Pramod plays the heroine.

The grapevine has it that Dileep had gone on a brief training to master the art of speaking with a cleft lip. We will keep you updated on the latest from the set for sure.

Jayasurya’s effeminate charector in ‘101 Weddings’

Actors who play certain roles are often said to have carried over the peculiar characteristics of the role on to their real lives as well. We recently heard of Dileep experiencing the same, while doing the film ‘Mayamohini’.

Now, actor Jayasurya has been reported to have carried his effeminate self home, from the sets of his new film ‘101 Weddings’. Jayasurya plays a dance teacher in the film that is being directed by Shafi.

Reportedly, the actor has taken quite a lot of efforts to get under the skin of the character, and looks like they have indeed paid off. ‘101 Weddings’ also has Kunchacko Boban doing a lead role along with Jayasurya.

Dileep Playing Sathya Sai Baba

Dileep, who is currently on a high with ‘Mayamohini’ breaking all records at the box office, says that the Telugu film in which he would play Sathya Sai Baba would be quite challenging.

Sathya Sai Baba is personality who had managed to win over crores of human hearts with his love. It would be quite a difficult task to essay the role to perfection, says Dileep.

The Telugu film would be directed by Kodiramakrishna, and would also have Jayaprada, Anushka, Sreejith Ravi and Shiju in key roles. The shoot of the film would.

Jayasurya turns effeminate for ‘101 Weddings’

Jayasurya has decided to take his role in ‘101 Weddings’ as a challenge and is determined to make heads turns with the Shafi film.

Reports claim that the actor is playing an effeminate character in the film, that would however be very different from the role that Dileep played in ‘Chanthupottu’ and quite recently ‘Mayamohini’!

Dileep says that he gets to hear approximately two hundred stories per month. Though not every writer is able to convince him with fresh ideas, the actor says that there are plenty of vibrant and promising writers in the industry today.

Among the writers that Dileep holds in high regard are Booby – Sanjay, Dileesh Nair and Shyam Puskharan. Dileep also made it clear that he had plans to act in three mass entertainers every year.

Dileep – Vysakh Film Rajadhi Raja

Dileep is currently riding high on the success of his latest film ‘Mayamohini’ that has emerged to be the biggest box office hit of the year, as yet.

The actor has signed Vysakh’s new film that has not been titled, and this film would be scripted by Benny P Nayarambalam, who had recently scripted Dileep’s film ‘Spanish Masala’.

Vysakh too has had his taste of success this year, with his film ‘Mallu Singh’ turning out to be a commercial block buster. When Dileep joins hands with Benny and Vysakh for his new film, yet another mega hit seems to be in the offing
