Allu Arjun, Trivikram combo

Director Trivikram has finally made a decision. Trivikram has decided to put aside his film with Venkatesh.

After conveying his decision to Venky, Trivikram has gone ahead and narrated an interesting script to Allu Arjun. Even while he was busy with his wedding, Allu Arjun readily agreed to listen to the script.

What is more interesting is that producer Danaiah has roped in top queen Ileana as the heroine for this film.

This will be Allu Arjun’s next and would go to the sets next month.

Buzz is that Trivikram was miffed with Venky for not confirming which project would go first, his or director Teja’s. While he was in this dilemma, Venky okayed producer Bellamkonda’s Body Guard. Knowing this, Trivikram decided to go ahead with another hero and approached Allu Arjun.

Trivikram was to direct Venkatesh for the same producer. But now he has changed the hero but the producer remains the same. Remember Danaiah produced two big films with Allu Arjun – Desamuduru and Varudu.

Trivikram wants to prove that he can finish a film in a short period of time, so he didn’t want to wait for Venky.

Jeyam Ravi-Bharath-S.P.B. Charan in election campaigns

Elections for the 14th Tamil Nadu Legislature will be held on April 13th. Going by the Kollywood-Tamil Nadu political legacy, actors are fast choosing alliances to campaign for in the elections. Actors Jeyam Ravi, Barath, S.P.B. Charan and Rohini have chosen their camp, which is quite a unique one. The actors will be campaigning for the Tamil Nadu Election Commission on the need to cast one’s vote to uphold one’s commitment towards the nation.

The campaign, part of the Election Commission’s move to make people realize their democratic duty, will take the form of short films, which would be screened at cinemas and on television. Kollywood sources hint that more actors will take this route to avoid being pressurised by political parties to campaign for them

Anushka in ‘Kavalan’ Telugu remake

While a new argument is raging over whether Vijay’s ‘’Kavalan’ is a real hit or not, the popularity of the sensitive love story by Siddique is growing without barriers. Siddique, himself wouldn’t have thought that his Malayalam ‘Bodygurad’ will go places in all languages.

After the success in Malayalam, ‘Boduguard’ became ‘Kavalan’ in Tamil with Vijay and Asin. Whatever the trade may say, the Tamil film resurrected the sagging morale of Vijay and his fans after consecutive failures.

Now ‘Kavalan’ is progressing in Hindi as ‘My Love Story’ with Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead. Siddique is doing it for the third time in Hindi as well

Latest news is that work has started for the Telugu version of the film and Siddique will direct it this time too. Venkatesh and Anushka will essay the roles of Vijay and Asin for Andhra fans.

Siddique is closer to record books for doing the same film in four languages with in a span of two years. If he directs the Kannada remake also, when it happens, then he will surely be there.

Release dates don’t matter for good films: Abhishek Bachchan

Although April is being considered a risky month to release films because of cricket tournaments like World Cup and IPL and school exams on top of that, Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan is unperturbed even though two of his films are being releasing next month.

April 1 will see murder mystery Game hitting the marquee and then April 22 is the turn of thriller Dum Maaro Dum.

‘I really believe that it’s something we’ve just made up for ourselves. If you make a quality product, no matter what period of the year it is. People will watch it and we have hundreds of examples to prove that.

‘I think its completely to do with the fact that whether we can excite the audience enough. We are blessed that our audiences are so passionate about films. Its almost a part of their daily life where it is very hard to resist going and watching a film,’  said Abhishek.

‘We have more than a billion people in this country. Not everyone is going to watch cricket. Even if half of them watch cricket the other half will watch the movie,’ he added.

The actor also admitted that he is very excited about both his films.

‘Game is a film that i’m very excited about because it’s my first film with two very dear friends of mine (Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidwani). We’ve been waiting very long for the right script to come, I’ve really enjoyed making this film. It’s a genre that I really enjoy. It’s a whodunit murder mystery and I always wanted to do such a film and we have shot at some really nice places,’ he revealed.

‘As well as Dum Maaro Dum, which is made by Rohan Sippy is also a great film. It’s our third film together.

‘Both films are exciting. As an actor my job is to act in the film. The release dates are not decided by me. As far as i’m concerned. Two films which are very close to me are releasing in a month, so i’m excited,’ he added.

Abhishek, also ruled out the news that there are similarities between the two films.

‘The only similarity between the two films is that I’m in them and April being the month of release. No other parallel at all,’ he said.
