Actor Kollam AjithTurns Director


Actor Kollam Ajith is trying his luck in direction. Many important film personalities including Mammootty were present for the pooja of Ajith’s first film ‘Calling Bell’.

Scripted by the director himself, the movie deals with contemporary issues and conveys a strong message. Ajith is the hero. Mamukkoya, Devan, Kalabhavan Shajon, Kochupreman, Manikkuttan, Vrinda, Salu Kurian are the other actors.

Kollam Ajith has been part of almost 500 movies in three languages for the last 30 years mainly as a villain.

Jayaram’s ‘Manthrikan’ finally wraps up the shoot

The Jayaram starrer ‘Manthrikan’ that has been in the making for quite a while now is finally complete. The film has been directed by Anil and is a horror comedy.

Poonam Bajwa is the heroine of the film, and this would be the second time she would be seen along with Jayaram in a film, the first one being ‘China Town’. It also stars Muktha George, Sharath Chandran Wayanad, Vineeth Kumar, Murali Mohan, Indrans, Kaviyoor Ponnamma, Sudha Nair, Riyaz Khan, Ramesh Pisharady, Kottayam Nazir, Sooraj Venjiradamoodu, Kalabhavan Shahjohn, E A Rajendran, Jayakrishnan, Devan, Anil Murali, Jayan and Mahesh, in supporting roles.

‘Manthrikan’ has been produced by Anand Kumar under the banner of Yes Cinema Company. The film is expected to release soon.

Narain in and as Veeraputhran

PT Kunju Mohammed’s historical Veeraputhran is making brisk progress in Kozhikode.

The film based on the life of freedom fighter Mohammed Abdul Rahiman (1898 – 1945) focuses on the eventful history of Malabar during India’s independence struggle.

Veeraputhran is about the life of Mohammed Abdul Rahiman, with Narain playing the lead.  Raima Sen plays the role of Rahiman’s wife Kunhi Beevathu.

The cast also includes Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Siddique, Kalabhavan Mani, Sai Kumar, Devan, Valsala Menon, and Sajitha Madathil.

The period drama is being shot on sets created by art director Bobban in Kozhikode, Mukkam, Ottapalam and Kodungaloor. National Award winning make-up man Pattanam Rasheed is doing the make up for Narain’s Rahiman look.

Don Max is doing spot editing of the film which is being shot by cameraman  MJ Radhakrishnan.

Veeraputhran is going to be another feather in Narain’s actor career. The film has been scheduled as a September release.
