The makers of upcoming Telugu thriller “Drishyam”, a remake of a similarly titled Malayalam blockbuster, are confident it will not mimic the standard formula of filmmaking and produce a new wave of cinema in the language.
“‘Drishyam’ is a new experience even for us as an attempt to break away from mimicking the standard formula, to find new ways of offering audience a completely different cinematic experience. We believe it will create a new wave in Telugu filmdom,” the film’s producer Suresh Babu said in a statement.
“We wanted to make a movie that will connect with each and every Telugu movie buff. In ‘Drishyam’, we found we could do it,” he added.
Directed by Sripriya, the film has been shot in places such as Araku Valley, Vizianagaram, Hyderabad and Kerala.
“Drishyam”, which is slated for release in July, features Daggubati Venkatesh and Meena in lead roles.
Nithin’s new movie in the direction of Karunakaran has completed the first schedule shoot. The film has been launched few days back and immediately hit the floors.
Nithin is pairing up with Bollywood beauty Mishti Chakraborthy who is making her debut in Tollywood. The next schedule shoot of this romantic entertainer will begin in a while.
Nithiin’s home banner Shresht Movies banner is making the film with Nikitha Reddy as producer. Anup Rubens who provided chartbuster albums for Nithiin through Ishq, Gunde Jaari Gallanthayinde is scoring the tunes.
Ever since actor Venkatesh’s son Arjun Daggubati was recently spotted at the launch of Telugu remake of “OMG: Oh My God!” titled “Gopala Gopala”, there have been rumours that he will be playing the actor’s son in the movie.
“Arjun will be playing Venkatesh’s son the film. It’s a cameo but the duo has a few scenes together and it’s sure going to catch the attention of the audiences. It was the director’s idea to cast Arjun, and Venkatesh didn’t mind because he would be acting with him,” a source from the film’s unit told.
Venkatesh will be reprising the role of Paresh Rawal from the original, while Shriya Saran will be seen playing his wife on screen.
Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan will be seen in the role of modern-day Lord Krishna, which was originally played Akshay Kumar.
The film, which is jointly produced by Suresh Productions and Sharath Marar, is being directed by Kishore Kumar Pardasany.
Sachin and Nazia’s new film Nee Jathaga Nenundali, an official remake of Aashiqui 2 will have its audio launched on June 14 in Novotel Hotel Hyderabad.
Mega Power Star Ram Charan will launch the audio if the latest buzz is to be believed and several Tollywood biggies are also expected to attend the launch event. The film’s trailer and a song have been recently launched.
Nee Jathaga Nenundali is being directed by Ravindra, who earlier directed Bumper Offer and Bandla Ganesh is producing the film under the banner of Parameswara Arts Production. Ankit Tiwari is the music director and Chandrabose provided the lyrics.

Superstar Mahesh Babu, who recently watched the Akkineni family’s Telugu family drama “Manam”, is all praise for the cameo by debutant Akkineni Akhil, son of actor Akkineni Nagarjuna.
Akhil’s cameo was raved by critics and audiences alike. “Manam” also features late legendary Telugu actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao alongside his son Nagarjuna and grandson Naga Chaitanya.
“(I’m) pleasantly surprised by Akhil’s cameo in the end. The boy has amazing screen presence. (He is) a star to look out for in the future,” Mahesh posted on his Twitter page Monday.
The Akkineni family who produced “Manam” kept Akhil’s cameo a secret till the release of the film. This had a lot of positive effect on the film.

Young Tiger NTR is shooting for Rabhasa in the direction of Santhosh Srinivas and the shooting schedules are currently taking place in Ramoji Film City. NTR has joined back to the film’s sets.
Tentatively titled Rabhasa, the commercial entertainer features Samantha and Praneetha as the leading ladies. The shoot will continue in Hyderabad for sometime. Rabhasa will have ample mass elements and the expectations are quite good on the movie.
NTR will sport a new hairdo in Rabhasa as his character has multiple shades and to differentiate, director has planned to showcase him in different hair style. Rabhasa is being made on Sri Sai Ganesh Productions banner with Thaman composing the tunes.
