Rima Kallingal to start a dance school

RimaKallin_30Actress Rima Kallingal is planning to start a dance school. The name of the school is Mamangam. The school will give training in Bharathnatyam, Kuchipudi, Kalari, and Yoga.

Rima is busy with the related precedent works in connection with the opening the school. She has started a workshop to have a professional approach towards dance.

The name of the institution – Mamangam – itself is very much related to the culture of Kerala. Rima Kallingal is planning to start this school as soon as possible.

Bharya Athra Pora is a hit

After a slow start , the new movie from Akku Akbar- Jayaram team ‘Bharya Athra Pora’ has emerged a hit. Mainly supported by families in the release centres, the movie at its fifth week continues in 30 plus centres, which is a fine achievement for a movie made in an average budget. Scripted by K Gireesh kumar who had been with the duo for their previous big hit ‘Veruthe Alla Bharya’,the movie produced by Anto Joseph is sure to be in the list of   year’s bests for family audiences.

Mohanlal’s Act In A Hollywood movie

Mohanlal is all set to act in a Hollywood movie named ‘Billion Dollar Raja’ written and directed by Nayan Padrai and produced by Sheetal Vyas.

This investigative mafia drama is focused on the true story of Galleon Group founder and fund manager Mr Raj Rajaratnam and the biggest insider trading case in history. Mohanlal will don the role of Mr Rajaratnam in the movie.

The movie is filmed primarily in New York City and also includes locations Florida and Italy.

Sheetal, whose debut production was ‘When Harry Tries to Marry’, is now working on the movie titled ‘Banker to the Poor’ based on the life of Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Prize winner. The romantic, comedy film ‘When Harry Tries to Marry’ which was also directed by Nayan Padrai has won several accolades and received overwhelmingly positive reviews.

Mohanlal also plays the central role of the ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan in the Bollywood film ‘Witch Hunt’ directed by popular actor-director Ananth Mahadevan and scripted by journalist writer C P Surendran.

Shruti Haasan Steps Into Trisha Shoes

The multifaceted beauty Shruti Haasan has hit the gold by bagging a golden chance in the direction of Prabhudeva. Yes, Prabhudeva is set to remake his super hit Telugu movie Nuvvu Vastanante Nenu Vaddantana in Hindi version and he has roped in Shruti for the leading lady role.

Trisha has earned loads of accolades for her role as Siri in Telugu and now Shruti Haasan is stepping into the formers shoes for similar role. She is pairing up with a newcomer Girish Taurani, son of Kumar Taurani of TIPS Industries in the film.

Shruti Haasan currently has Ravi Teja’s Balupu and there is a buzz that the actress has also signed up Jr.NTR-Harish Shankar film and now, she’ll soon join Prabhu Deva’s NVNV remake unit.

Dulqar to play Mohanlal’s son

Megastar  Mammootty`s son Dulqar Salmaan had a very impressive debut in Mollywood, with his debut flick ‘Second Show’ emerging as the very first hit of the year. As the movie was supported from all quarter, stories were about a project with Dulqar and the other superstar of Mollywood Mohanlal together to be directed by hit maker Vysakh. But the latest news is that even before that project, Dulqar and Lal are likely to come together for the new movie by Priyadarshan.

The big director from Mollywood will start working on this new flick after the release of his new movie ‘Tezz’ in Hindi. It is learned that this will be also a rollicking comedy with Dulqar coming up as the son of the character played by Mohanlal. Expected to start the shoot by the month of August, this movie will be a Christmas release. This yet to be titled movie will be produced by the big banner Seven Arts International.

Meanwhile Dulqar who will be looking forward for the release of his ‘Usthad Hotel’, will start shooting for a new movie titled  ‘June’ by the month of June.

RGV to make a film on Osama’s Afterlife?

While the whole of US and citizens of every country are busy rejoicing the death of Osama Bin Laden and people are busy discussing the fate of Pakistan, the happenings seem to have led Ram Gopal Varma onto a whole new idea of making a film on Osama Bin Laden’s afterlife!. The director has expressed his wish in doing a film on Osama Bin Laden’s afterlife, where he rises as a ghost and haunts the White House!

The project is currently titled as ‘Terror Turns To Horror, Al Queda Part 2.’ While our very own RGV is busy with scripting for this venture, even Hollywood director Katherine Bigelow is planning a movie on the life of Osama and US’s victory.

Already Varma is working on a film titled ‘Not A Love Story’ – the story which is based on the infamous Neeraj Grover’s murder case by Kannada actress Maria Susairaj and boyfriend Mathew. RGV wants to portray the emotions these characters went through on the night of murder through this film, he expressed to the media.

Two interesting scripts based on real life incidents right? Well, looks like there’s a lot to expect from RGV this year!

Lakshmi Rai with James Cameron

A few days ago we came to know that James Cameron walked into the sets of Priyadarshan’s Malayalam film ‘Arabiyum, Ottakavum, P Madhavan Nairum’ when the shooting was taking place in Dubai.

Now the latest is that the Hollywood big gun has expressed his desire to work with Lakshmi Rai, the heroine of the Priyadarshan’s project. “He was thoroughly impressed with the actress,” say sources

Confirming this Lakshmi Rai says, “After meeting me on the sets, he read up on me and my films on the world wide web. I will be leaving for California soon to work with him. Cameron said that I had a good body of work and it is a huge compliment for me,”

The Hollywood director was in Dubai for the 2011 Abu Dhabi Media Summit. Priyan, who came to know about this, sought a dinner appointment with the man behind ‘Avatar’. However, Cameron said he would come to the sets to observe Priyan’s work style.

James Cameron pays a visit to Priyadarshan’s film set

There was a surprise visitor on the sets of Priyadarshan’s ‘Arabiyum Ottakavum P. Madhavan Nairum’, and it was none other than world renowned director James Cameron. Priyan had requested a meeting with Cameron the night before, after having come to know that the director was in the city for the Abudabi Media Summit 2011. However the director surprised everyone by arriving in person at the film sets. Priyan says that he was speechless for a while, when Cameron dropped in on his film set. The director talked for a while on 3D technology, and commented on Mohanlal’s acting. He also expressed surprise at films being made on such small budgets. Priyan who is overwhelmed, says that this is a meeting that he would never ever forget in his entire life. He also says that he has got the confidence to make a Hollywood 3D film through the meeting.
